How Long Does It Take to Complete an Indoor Playground Project

2026-03-01

How long to complete an indoor playground project? For most projects, the full timeline for an indoor playground is usually around 2 to 5 months from design confirmation to final installation. The exact schedule depends on the size of the project, the level of customization, the destination country, shipping conditions, customs clearance, and site readiness. At MILAND, we usually break the timeline down into six main stages: design, production, shipping, customs clearance, installation, and possible delays between stages.

Estimated time: about 3 to 10 days

The commercial indoor playground business starts with design confirmation. Once we receive your floor plan, dimensions, and basic requirements, our team can prepare a layout proposal based on your venue and budget. You can also choose from our various theme galleries, including Meland Castle, Duma Fort, Morandi World, Circus Fun, Jurassic World, etc.

If the project uses a relatively standard configuration, the design process can be completed quickly. If you need a custom theme, special colors, or several rounds of revisions, this stage may take longer. Clear site information at the beginning usually helps shorten the overall timeline.

Estimated time: about 15 to 35 days

After the indoor play area design and order details are confirmed, we arrange production. The manufacturing time depends mainly on the size of the playground and how much customization is involved.

Standard models such as ball pit are usually faster to produce. For customized projects such as indoor play structures, we need more time for material preparation, manufacturing, and detail coordination. Before shipment, our team also checks the finished products to make sure they match the approved design.

Estimated time: about 15 to 45 days

Because our factory is located in China, international shipping is one of the biggest variables in the overall project schedule. For most overseas customers, sea freight is the most common and cost-effective option.

Transit time depends on the destination, shipping route, vessel schedule, and port conditions. In some cases, shipping may be relatively fast, while in others it can take significantly longer, especially during busy seasons or when port congestion occurs.

For reference, typical sea freight transit times from China may include: Indonesia (around 2-3 weeks), Mexico (around 4-5 weeks), Serbia (around 5-7 weeks, usually via a European port, followed by inland transportation).

Estimated time: about 3 to 10 days

After the goods arrive, customs clearance is the next step. The actual time depends on local import procedures, document review, and whether the shipment is selected for inspection.

At MILAND, we help prepare the export documents in advance to support a smoother customs process. Even so, customs timelines can vary from country to country, so it is always wise to leave some buffer time.

Estimated time: about 10 to 40 days

Installation starts once the equipment arrives at your venue. The actual schedule depends on the size of the project, the complexity of the design, and how well the site is prepared in advance.

Indoor soft play projects between 100 and 500 sqm can often be completed in 10-20 days. Meanwhile, larger indoor play projects of 500-800 sqm or more typically need 25+ days for assembly, adjustment, and final inspection, especially when multi-level structures or customized themed areas are involved.

A well-prepared site and smooth coordination can help shorten the installation period.

Possible extra time: about 7 to 20 days

In real projects, delays can happen between stages. Common reasons include design changes, unfinished site decoration, shipping congestion, customs issues, local coordination problems, or waiting for installation arrangements.

For this reason, we usually recommend that customers allow some extra time in their opening plan. A realistic schedule is always better than an overly aggressive one, especially for imported customized equipment.
